But now, O Lord, you are our Father;
we are the clay, and you are our potter;
we are all the work of your hand.
- Isaiah 64:8, ESV
And we all, with unveiled face, beholding the glory of the Lord, are being transformed into the same image from one degree of glory to another. For this comes from the Lord who is the Spirit.

Cultivating a vibrant, holistic life of transformation with God is the center of the Christian life. In short, this life dedicated to Spiritual Formation could be reduced to one word: prayer. But often, we don't know where to begin with prayer.
The goal for Spiritual Formation is that students would be formed spiritually through the knowledge and love of God by developing spiritual rhythms that create space for just such a cultivation. A balance between theory and practice must be sought with a sensitivity to the students’ life-stage and personal experience. While students will be introduced to essential teachings in Christian theology and spirituality, they will also participate in formational practices that are rooted in the Bible and in Church’s rich and varied tradition spanning ancient to contemporary times. Spiritual Formation is designed to help students see that all of life is sacred, and that all of life can be prayer.

Goals Include:
- To experience greater conversion of life & holistic spiritual maturity in fulfillment of the great commandment: to know God and love him more with heart, soul, mind, and strength.
- To grow in greater wisdom and the holy virtues of faith, hope, and love.
- To study and contemplate the essentials of the character and nature of God (Theology) and humanity (anthropology), and their interrelationship.
- To introduce and practice the classic spiritual disciplines, especially in faithful theological and spiritual reading of the Bible, aimed to cultivate a prayerful, Spirit-inspired encounter with Jesus.
- To read discerningly and discuss deeply some of the enduring devotional works of Christian spirituality and formation that span the Church’s history from ancient to contemporary times.
- To be mindful of the unique strengths and challenges of the Church of our time and how we might faithfully live therein.
- To help develop habits that aid in counterbalancing and inoculating against the cultural spirit of the age (largely characterized by a frenzied productivity, distraction & isolation resulting from an unhealthy relationship with social media & other technologies) that militates against the Christ-centered life of rest, joy, peace, and contentment in God and his Church.
- To draw from the wisdom of the broader Christian traditions from ancient to contemporary times.
- To seek holistic spiritual formation that shapes mind, heart, body, and imagination.
