To study the Humanities is to dedicate oneself to the study of enduring, great works of literature. These works have been recognized through the development of civilization as possessing a timeless, yet always timely, relevant quality because they have been concerned to draw us into deep reflection on the fundamental questions of life. These questions get at the heart of what it means to be a fully-alive human being - hence, the human in humanities. Such questions include, but are not limited to, Who/what is God? What does it mean to be human? What is the world and my relationship to it? What is good? What is evil? It is the unswerving commitment to and longing to know, love, and be transformed by Truth, Goodness, and Beauty that has compelled the authors and those who study their works to ask these questions.
Pegasus Education is committed to an integrated approach to education, which means that the study of humanities will intentionally be cross-curricular and develop the whole student intellectually and morally. A humanities program naturally lends itself to the development of the most fundamental academic skills, which allow the student access to the riches that the classical liberal arts tradition has to offer.
