Pegasus Education Tutoring Policies
Communication
There is no expectation to pay more than one session at a time, however, if convenient, clients may pay for more than one session in advance. Payment will be received upon the completion of the session. Pegasus Tutoring utilizes the following payment methods:
Pegasus Tutoring offers services to its clients based on the vision and values of the service and the skills offered by its tutors and what is judged to be for the greater good of the student for his or her academic success. It is understood that the clients, seeking the services of Pegasus Tutoring and its tutors, consent to such a vision. Tutors will make it their aim to offer their areas of expertise to the student, but the tutor cannot coerce the student to make suggested changes. Hence, Pegasus Tutoring is not ultimately responsible for the academic success or failure of the student. Clients (student and family) must acknowledge their responsibility for the student’s academic success. If in the course of the tutoring service either client or tutor finds that the match is unsuitable, clear, honest, and considerate communication will be made to the reason and such freedom of judgment will be honored by both parties.
Communication
- Pegasus Tutoring aims at communicating openly and honestly regarding the progress of the student per the client-tutor agreement and the vision and values of Pegasus Education Tutoring.
- Pegasus Tutoring desires to form cordial and professional relationships with families and their students. The tutor will encourage the student to practice self-advocacy and honesty in the following ways:
- With the tutor: students are encouraged to voice their concerns responsibly and honestly.
- With the parent/guardian: students are encouraged to practice self-responsibility in communicating with parents/guardians about their progress and assignments.
- Pegasus Tutoring wants to hear and respond to client questions and concerns.
- Clients are encouraged to email and call tutor with any questions or concerns.
- If communication becomes challenging due to lack of communication or unreasonable over communication, the tutor will kindly communicate this to the client and they will work together to establish a more balanced, workable communication together.
- If client needs to cancel or reschedule, they must contact tutor at least 24 hours in advance. We want to be reasonably flexible as unforeseen matters arise. After a first cancellation in less than the 24-hour warning, the late cancellation fee to be assessed will be $45.00 per scheduled hourly session.
- Reschedules can be made, but should be done so within one week of the regularly-scheduled session, or prior to the next scheduled session (if a client meets more than one time per week). If not, a cancellation fee will be assessed.
- If tutor arrives to location but client does not, then the standard late fee of $45.00 will be assessed.
- If client arrives up to 10 minutes late, tutor will work to the agreed-upon time at full price.
- If client is over 10 minutes late, tutor reserves the right to cancel that session and the late fee will be received. After accumulating three (3) such tardies, the tutor will communicate with the client. If tardiness persists after this, then Pegasus Education reserves the right to cancel services.
- Prompt communication on the part of both Pegasus Education and all clients is extremely important. If Pegasus Education reaches out to establish a time and/or place for meeting, confirmation of tutoring appointments should be done at one’s earliest convenience, and no less than 24 hours from the next regularly-scheduled appointment.
- If confirmation is not made within the 24-hour window, the tutor may cancel the session and the late fee shall be assessed.
