Pegasus Education is dedicated to holistic formation, life-long growth, and love of learning. In keeping with our vision and values, we believe there is a great need for coming alongside students toward the development of their whole person in the context of all aspects of life: school, society, church, and all the various intersections of the individual person with various spheres of life. We believe that in order to experience deep, lasting, and genuine happiness or human flourishing - what the Greeks called eudaimonia - that we need that coming alongside of another person. We need companions on the journey. We need the perspective that comes from communities rooted in the enduring wisdom traditions who do not speak from their own voice and narrow vision. In Christian parlance, we need the timeless and always-timely wisdom of the Church throughout the ages.
To that end, Pegasus Education offers growth coaching - also known as mentoring, discipleship, or spiritual direction - that aims to offer both timeless and timely wisdom embodied by an attentive and patient listening, careful questioning, and grounded accompaniment with the client in order to help them discern their sense of purpose or call, also known as vocation.
We recognize the seeming presumption to offer such services, but we at Pegasus (Matthew Farrelly) have been so greatly benefited from it ourselves (and continue to seek it, presently) that we desire that others experience something of the same fruits that come from it. Perhaps a few words on Matthew's experience are of some necessity.
Matthew Farrelly has been a classical and Christian educator for nearly a decade, working with students ranging from grades K-12, but mostly with middle and high school. In addition to his own personal commitment to receiving growth coaching, he has been privileged to offer services in both informal and formal contexts. Most formally, Matthew's classroom environment has been guided by and characterized by these values. Matthew has also participated in leading youth and adults in individual and small group spiritual direction at his home church for the last 10 years.
Toward the fulfillment of our call at Pegasus Education to offer holistic formation, life-long growth, and love of learning, we offer growth coaching because we believe that attention, care, and vision grounded in the theological virtues of faith, hope, and love can be a source of inspiration for some in the current generation to play a part in transforming the world.
